Today we did the Magazine Ransom Note poem. See the Romantic Poetry Unit page and the link with the assignment on there. The poem is due on

1. Print up a new OBJ list from the Romantic Poetry page.
2. Word association: when you hear the word "romantic" make a list of what images or connotations you think of.
3. Notes were given on the true definition of Romantic poetry. See Romantic Poetry page, but also classmate's notes because of what I discussed as I presented them.
4. Six poet study: Research time was given to find at least ten facts about three of the six poets. All 30 facts due on Thursday.

1. Assigned "I Am" poem and "Acrostics"
2. KWL - see me when you return
3. Perusing the Wiki Romantic Poetry pages - look through what you will be doing, especially focusing on where you need to post your poems as they are assigned.
4. Research time was given for the remaining three poets. 10 facts per poet. You should have 60 facts total when you return.
HW for Friday, all 60 poet facts due. For Monday, "I Am" and "Acrostics" poems due.

We started the explication process, which is a rather difficult concept to explain. So, if you missed it, plan to come see me at the beginnng of class on Monday because other students will be finishing their paraphrases from Friday. I will walk you through what we did and you can start as everyone else is finishing up.
